This section allows you to completely manage any domain name delegated (pointed) to your shopping cart. Simply click the “add new domain” button on the left menu panel and enter the address excluding the http://www. Prefix, the system will add this for you.
You are allowed unlimited domain names however each plan comes with a set amount to start with.
There are two options in pointing your domain to your store;
1) You delegate your domain to our servers - Please ask a representative for current nameservers to enter in your domain settings. This means we host your domain.
To add a delegated domain to your store admin, you must tick the "Add to DNS server" checkbox when adding a new domain.
Delegation of a domain name generally takes a few hours but can take up to 48 hours to complete. Once it is complete, your website will be live and your email for that domain name will be active
2) You host your own domain name and point by creating a cname - Please ask a representative for our current cname entry to enter in your hosts settings.
To add a non delegated (hosted on external servers) domain to your store admin, you must NOT tick the "Add to DNS server" checkbox when adding a new domain.
You can also delegate a subdomain to your store. e.g. store.mydomain.com
To do this you will need to enter the admin console of the hosting provider where your main domain name is hosted and set up the subdomain. Once your subdomain is created, point it to our CNAME which is shoppingcart.ashop.com.au (Version 1) or store.shop033.com (Version 2). Now add your subdomain to the domain settings page, do not ticket the "Add to DNS server" checkbox.
If you choose option 1 to delegate your domain to our servers, you can also change the mx record to use an external mailserver. Simply edit your existing domain entry and tick the "Use external mail server" checkbox. The enter your mailservers mx record in the box provided below.
