Changes
you make to the theme may also impact the widget layout and widget
design. Therefore, you should create a duplicate of the widget layout
and widget design and attach those to the new theme before adjusting the
new theme.
To
check which Layout and Design is activated on your store, go to Design
> Themes, and select the draft theme. Under General Settings, Display
tab on the left you can note the things you will need to adjust: Widget
Layout: and General Widget Style:
You can then duplicate these under Design > Widget Layout and Design
> Widget Design by clicking the clone button on the right next to the
template you wish to duplicate.
Then go back to Design > Themes, and under the demo / draft theme,
under General Settings, Display tab on the left, use the drop down box
to select the newly created Widget Layout and Design, and save so as not
to effect your current theme.
